Privacy Policy

Effective October 15, 2026 · version 2026-10-15. Existing account holders are asked to accept this version the next time they sign in.

Short version: you need a Rydkr account to use Rydkr Sno. We keep the account details listed below. We may share or sell some of that data with partners in the future, and you can opt out of that at any time with the “Do not sell or share my info” switch on your Rydkr Sno Account page.

What we collect from account holders

• Your email address, to send sign-in links and identify your account.
• Your first name, to greet you in emails and in the app. You can change it on the Rydkr Sno Account page.
• Your home mountain (optional), if you pick one, so the app can keep it in your mountains. You can change or clear it on the Rydkr Sno Account page.
• Your saved mountains and lists, so they sync between your devices.
• Your choices and consents: which version of these terms you accepted and when, whether you opted in to marketing emails (off unless you tick the box), and whether you opted out of sale or sharing.
• Sign in with Google (if you use it): from Google we receive your email address (and whether Google has verified it), your Google account id and your first name, which we only use to prefill the name field. We don’t receive your Google password, contacts or other Google data, and we don’t post anything to your Google account. We use the account id to link your Google sign-in to your Rydkr account; you can remove the app’s access any time in your Google Account settings.
• Sign-in sessions: a random session id stored as a secure cookie, kept for up to 30 days.

What stays on your device

Settings such as units and your home location for drive times, and cached forecasts, are stored in your browser. Your home location is not sent to our servers.

Launch lists (rydkr.com)

If you ask to be notified when Tee or Dirt launches, we keep your email, which app you asked about, and when you agreed. We use it to tell you about that launch. To be removed, or to opt out of any sale or sharing of that email, write to support@rydkr.com.

Sale and sharing of data, and your opt-out

We don’t sell or share your data today. In the future we may share or sell certain account data, such as your email address, first name, home mountain and the mountains you follow, with partners like resorts, gear and travel companies. If we start, we will update this policy first.

You can opt out at any time: turn on “Do not sell or share my info” on your Rydkr Sno Account page (we record the choice and when you made it), or write to support@rydkr.com. Once you opt out, we won’t sell or share your data with partners.

Advertising

Rydkr Sno does not show ads, and we don’t use ad trackers or third-party analytics.

Service providers

We use a few providers to run the service, and they process data only for us: Cloudflare (hosting, database, security, and the human check on sign-in forms), Resend (sending sign-in and, if you opt in, marketing emails), and Google (only if you choose Sign in with Google). Forecast requests go from our server to Open-Meteo and NOAA / the National Weather Service with mountain coordinates only, never your email.

Your rights and choices

• Export: download everything we hold about you as a JSON file from the Account page.
• Delete: delete your account from the Account page. Your email, name, home mountain, mountains, consent history and sessions are erased right away; nothing is kept except routine server logs, which expire on their own. Deleting your account means you can no longer use the service until you sign up again.
• Do not sell or share: the switch on the Rydkr Sno Account page, any time.
• Marketing: turn marketing emails on or off on the Rydkr Sno Account page, or use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Sign-in emails are not marketing and are sent only when you ask for them.
• You can also ask us to access, correct or delete your data by writing to support@rydkr.com.

Security and retention

Sign-in links work once and expire after 15 minutes. We store only hashed versions of links and session ids, and session cookies are HttpOnly and Secure. We keep account data until you delete your account.

Children

Rydkr Sno is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we’ll update the effective date and ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in.
